Buenos Aires, January 30 (NA) — According to the official report from the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC), the public sector workforce closed December 2025 with 280,120 workers, representing a 7.2% year-over-year drop and a 0.6% monthly decrease. Of the total, the National Public Administration concentrated 190,936 employees, with a 7.1% year-over-year decline, while state-owned enterprises and societies recorded 89,184 workers, a 7.4% decrease compared to December 2024. Within the public administration, the largest contraction was seen in the centralized administration, which fell 10.5% year-over-year and closed the month with 38,940 agents. Meanwhile, the decentralized administration added 116,222 employees (-6.4%), the deconcentrated one 21,733 (-6.0%), and other entities 14,041 (-4.4%). The official report also noted that nine entities did not report their staffing in December, so 1,407 positions were imputed, equivalent to 0.5% of the total.
